Obsidian Ecology Ltd was established in 2024 as a carbon zero eco-tourism company based in Naivasha, Kenya, partnered with The Kenya Bird of Prey Trust.​​ We provide accommodation, logistical support, and coordination for volunteers, interns, students, researchers and tourists. ​

 

Our home is an 88 acre wildlife sanctuary on the shores of Lake Naivasha which we share with the Kenya Bird of Prey Trust's main base, The Naivasha Raptor Centre, which houses their collection of 40+ captive birds of prey as well as a specialised veterinary clinic​.

We also partner with the Soysambu Raptor Centre, located on the 55,000 acre Soysambu conservancy, which surrounds one of The Great Rift Valley's famous soda lakes - Lake Elementaita. Spending time at the SRC is an option for all of our volunteers; here they learn more about falconry (hunting with raptors before they are released back into the wild), whilst also enjoying the lions, hyaenas, leopards and buffalo that call Soysambu home.
